- Optimized to make ScreenSaver file even smaller(Your ScreenSaver file size reduced about 40KB);
- Fixed the failure loading problem after the created ScreenSaver being signed with code signing certificates;
Code signing is useful for distributing your own ScreenSavers, especially for companies. Signing helps ensure that your ScreenSaver software's reputation can be recognized for everything you sign.
Authenticode is commonly referred to as Code Signing because a "digital signature" is attached to .SCR/.EXE and other files that is used to determine if the file has been modified since being "signed" by the publisher.
The way most users have run across Authenticode is likely by downloading a piece of software and seeing a rather nasty "Unknown Publisher" warning from the web browser (or Windows).
After a ScreenSaver being signed, a small code is added to the ScreenSaver file. The signing process changes the ScreenSaver file so that the ScreenSaver fails to load itself or to be opened by !Easy ScreenSaver Station. This happened to the ScreenSavers made by the old !Easy ScreenSaver Station. The new version fixed the problem so that you can sign your ScreenSavers for distribution if you have code signing certificates.
